How To Restart Your Computer
Shutting your computer down completely and restarting it (also known as "rebooting") can solve many technical problems that can occur in the course of using your computer. It is a good idea to restart your computer periodically to ensure optimal performance.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- If your computer requires you to log in when it first boots, then you will need your username and password.
STEP-BY-STEP SOLUTION
- Close out of all open programs, making sure that you click Save to save your data.
- From the Start menu, click Shut Down.
- Windows will ask you what you would like to do. Choose Restart.
- Windows will restart. You may need to log in to your computer, depending on your security configuration. Reconnect to the Internet, and try again to access the web site.
PC Users
