How do I locate and contact a specific alumnus or alumna of Stanford?

If you are searching for contact information for an alumnus/alumna of Stanford University and are not an alumnus/alumna yourself, please see below. If you are an alumnus/alumna of Stanford, as defined by the completion of at least three quarters in a degree-granting program at Stanford, you are eligible to search for your friend in the online Alumni Directory.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • The full name of the alumnus/alumna you seek
  • Any additional information that may help us locate the individual you seek, such as major, hometown, Frosh dorm, or the years the individual was at Stanford (i.e., from 1972-1976).

STEP-BY-STEP SOLUTION

  1. If you are an alumnus/alumna of Stanford and have an online account, please log in to www.stanfordalumni.org and click on the "Find an alum" button to search for your fellow alumnus/alumna. If you are unable to log in, please visit our help with the site login. If you have not yet created your free online account, please register now.
  2. If you are not an alumnus/alumna of Stanford, please contact Customer Service, providing as much information about the individual you seek as possible. If we are able to locate current contact information for this alumnus/alumna in our records, we can forward a message from you to the alumnus/alumna on your behalf.

TIPS

  • If you are an employer and need to verify that an alumnus/alumna indeed did graduate from Stanford, please contact the University Registrar directly for instructions on how to obtain this information from the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC). Please also contact the University Registrar if you seek information about a deceased relative.
