How To Set Your System Clock to the Correct, Local Time

If your system clock or time zone setting are significantly out of sync with the server time, the login cookie will not be set properly and you will not be able to access your account.

STEP-BY-STEP SOLUTION

  1. In the lower right hand corner of your computer screen, double-click on the clock.
  2. On the "Date & Time" tab, select the correct month, year, and today's date.
  3. On the "Time Zone" tab, select the time zone in which you are located at this moment from the dropdown menu. If you are traveling and on a laptop, select the time zone in which you are currently located. This value should not always be set to Pacific time, because that is where Stanford is located. It should be set to your own local time zone.
  4. Click "Apply" and "Ok" to save your changes.
